The Dojo Environment

The dojo is set in the midst of 67-acres of native bush. A pure stream with waterfalls and swimming-holes runs through the tall mamaku ferns and kauri trees surrounding the dojo. The light of hundreds of glow-worms on the riverbank reflect in the water at night challenging a marvelous night sky featuring the unbelieveably bright Milky Way and Southern Cross.

A video preview of the dojo and its surroundings can be seen on YouTube:

Not only aikido
The Koru Dojo is available for retreats, workshops and seminars for related disciplines, such as tai chi, yoga, meditation and healing arts. We welcome groups looking for a peaceful place, close to Nature, where they can practise without distraction or interruption, and where there is easy access to some of the country's best scenic and adventure locations.
